FAQsHow do I apply to Belmont House?
The application process for Long Term Care can seem overwhelming. The Toronto Central Home and Community Care Support Services (HCCSS) is available to support you and your family through this period and facilitate your application to Belmont House. Part of the HCCSS’ mandate is to initiate applications, determine eligibility, coordinate applications, and maintain the list for all homes.
Once eligibility has been assessed, you can select Belmont House as your preferred home of choice and we will receive a copy of your application.
Applications are then met by our Admissions Committee, and a decision is made as to whether we are able to meet your needs and which care unit would be the best fit for you.
The HCCSS is then notified and your name is placed for admission on the Belmont House waitlist, to be reviewed again when an appropriate bed becomes available.

Rates
The Ontario Ministry of Long Term Care establishes Belmont’s rates annually. Rates are the same for all long term care facilities in Ontario.

The staff have really done a remarkable job keeping our family close while we have to physically stay apart.
Knowing that Mum is so well taken care of physically – and also mentally and emotionally – provides so much comfort to our family. We know that we don’t have to worry about her and can just enjoy our time together.
We can really feel the love the staff have for our Dad. They always have time for his jokes and stories and he is so well cared for. We know we made the best decision for him.
I’ve never been bored at Belmont! There is always so much to do and I can tell the recreation staff really care about what they do. The mid week current events group is a highlight of my week and full of interesting debate! I also really look forward to the live entertainment twice a week. Feels so luxurious to have such talented musicians visiting our home!
